Love this truck. Never short on power. Put a kn intake on it and power and acceleration has improved even more. Me and my wifes daily driver have had problems with electronics and radio luckily covered under warranty. Despite problems though me and my wife still love this truck, however I have not ever seen this truck get over 15 mpg city or hwy. I want to know what you guys getting 17 are doing. Overall great dependable and more than able truck. I would put it against Ford, Dodge, or Toyota any day

Plenty of power from the 6.0L engine. Fuel mileage has been 14.5 mph in town and up to 17 mpg on the highway with the 3.73 ratio. It also makes light work out of a trailer. Its a comfortable way to travel with up to 4 adults.

  • Hands Down, Best Vehicle Ive Ever Owned - 2000 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

This is the best vehicle Ive ever owned. My first Chevy truck since 64 . My wife has a Toyota Sequoia, and I wouldnt trade my truck for two of hers. Great power, fantastic brakes, outstanding visibility. Best back seat of any make in 2000. Actually is tilted like a regular seat. 148,000 miles, been in the shop twice for minor concerns, doesnt use any oil, and still on original brakes. Average 13-14 mpg (16 hwy), which isnt bad for 300 HP and 365 FPS of torque. Pull a 4 horse goose neck, no problem, although it does better with 3 horses. My only mistake was only buying one. Should have bought two and put one up on blocks in storage!

  • Best ever - 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

Had the truck for 6 months, 4,000 miles. Greatly impressed with my first GM product. Build quality and performance better than my old Ford Expi. Fully loaded, love the leather seats, and the sat. radio. Cant ask for more, other than better gas mileage. Not one single complaint.

Gas milage is bad no matter what we have tried to do. Computer chip, air intake, dual exhaust, doesnt make a difference. Still only get 13 miles a gal. 8 miles a gal towing. Should have bought the 454 it gets same mileage and has more power.

  • One good pickup - 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

I love this truck. I hate the gas mileage. But it has a lot of power for pulling trailers. I bought this truck two reasons. One to pull my fifth wheel camper & boat. Second, to go hunting. In North Dakota, you can pull tandem trailers behind your pickup if the first trailer is a fifth wheel with brakes. This truck can pull all day. But be careful in the heat (>90 ) the GMs overheat. I see them on the side of the road. It has not happened to me personally. When pulling tandem trailers I get 6 to 8 mpg. So you really need to watch your fuel gauge, if it worked correctly. Maintenance on this vehicle is oil changes and tires.

Absolutely the most dissapointing purchase of my life.It shakes badly between 70 and 80 mph. I dont tow heavy and dont off road it it has stock rims and tires and its on its third pinion bearing. I cant trust it to travel. And it dosnt even have 25K on it yet. My 99 RAM had 145K and I would trust it to this day anywhere anytime.
